Moved from Callajoppa Genus Group.

Nothing else similar in the eastern half of the US. What Bob saw as white on the face in photo #2 doesn't occur on both sides of the face, and the quality is the same as parts of the thorax and legs that are reflecting light. This apparent color can safely be considered a relic of photography rather than genuine pigmentation.

I was wrong about this being Trogus fulvipes. Dr. David Wahl points out that Saranaca apicalis approaches this metasomal coloration and both females and males have been observed with metasomal terga 1-3 black. The 4th tergum is also black in this individual. The pale face would only agree with the male of apicalis, however, as the head is apparently always entirely black in the female.

I'd say Ichneumonid
I'd say your correct on being an ichneumonid, but I'm basing that just on size and the number of antennal segments. There is probably someone else that knows a lot more.
