Teuchocnemis bacuntius - Male
Parkwood, Durham County, North Carolina, USA

Size: 12-14 mm BL
This fly was staked out near a large rotting stump of a deciduous tree. The coloration is rather like a Polistes wasp. Thanks to John and Jane for correcting my initial ID!
