Root aphids

Root aphids
Middlesex Fells, Medford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 1, 2012
These were found under a rock with some ants:

In this image, it looks like they are secreting a honeydew-like liquid... is it possible that the ants are 'milking' them?

Any help with an ID is appreciated. Thanks!

Geoica sp.??
There is an interactive key here and I am wondering if this is a Geoica sp.? I'm really bad with keys and could only fill in a couple items but maybe someone else could take a stab at it.

Root aphids?

Thanks!
Thanks for the ID! That makes a lot of sense, it did look like the ants were tending them, I just didn't even know root aphids existed! Very cool.
