this looks like a deeply depressed male
[i mean, the pronotum]
suspect (and hope) that feature might be of significant diagnostic value, so may be it's worth trying to obtain a sharper closeup of the forebody (the head may also bear some suggestive armament, as is often the case in male ciids)
