I just want to make sure that this is Carabidae - Calosoma Scrutator, "caterpillar hunter". Several of these are out and about. As seen in this pic, the beetle pulled unknown larvae from within a pocket of bark on a live oak.

I think your ID is correct
The second part of a Latin name is never capitalized.
