Ruddy Daggerwing - Marpesia petreus
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA
Marpesia petreus prepupal final instar larva. Note the dorsal side is no longer tan colored and the entire larva now has a reddish orange coloration. At this point the larva no longer requires food and is in the wandering phase looking for a place to pupate.
