Anthophora from Mt. Diablo, CA - Habropoda depressa

Anthophora from Mt. Diablo, CA - Habropoda depressa
Mount Diablo State Park, Contra Costa County, California, USA
April 1, 2012
Size: 8-10 mm
Large gray bee feeding on Erysimum capitatum (western wallflower). Anthophora was suggested to me, and Anthophora edwardsii looks like a superficial match. Can anyone shed any more light on this one?

Thanks for the ID! How can you tell this is H. depressa based on this photo? The info page for Habropoda says the main difference between this genus and Anthophora is in wing venation, but frankly I can't make out much detail from my photos. Are there other good ways to identify this species in the field?
