One of the Catocala
This may be new to the guide. The new Wagner Noctuid book will help

 
Catocala muliercula
From the noctuid book, it is one of a similar-appearing complex of caterpillars (C. badia, C. muliercula, and C. antinympha), but the only one that occurs as far south as Florida is C. muliercula. The others don't get souther than NJ.

Also, it is reported as mainly feeding on wax myrtle in FL, and that's what the plant in this photo looks like to me.
