Nicoletiidae Silverfish

Nicoletiidae Silverfish
Oklahoma County, Oklahoma, USA
March 24, 2012
Size: ~4mm
I was really excited to find this Nicoletiidae silverfish when I flipped over a rotten log. This guy was really fast and hard to photograph, and these were the only photos that came out in focus. I was too busy trying to photograph this guy to even think about photographing the ants it was living with. I don't know if the species of ant matters when trying to ID these silverfish, but I'm pretty sure they were in the Genus Crematogaster, possibly C. laeviuscula.

The Guide says that these silverfish are only found in Texas and Florida, but, as there are photographs from California and Virginia (and now Oklahoma), I think the Info page needs to be updated.
