Bagous magister LeConte This large species breeds in water lilies. The elytral projections are common in many weevils and are called declivital calli, singular is callous.

Spectacular!
As i said, I have a few other specimens back in the UNH entomology lab, so if they are a new state record then they're in the right place to be documented.
