Wasp and Grasshopper - Prionyx - female

Wasp and Grasshopper - Prionyx - Female
Lover's Lane, Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia, USA
July 9, 2006
I thought this was really neat. I saw this odd bug walking down the road. When I got closer I realized the grasshopper was paralyzed or dead and too big for the wasp to fly with. The wasp has it's legs spread just as far as it can and was walking while carrying the hopper. Does anyone know what kind of wasp it is?

Prionyx.
The prey suggests it can 'only' be a female Prionyx, though most females don't have so much black on the abdomen. The family is Sphecidae, subfamily Sphecinae. Nice shot:-)
