VLB early larvae on arrowwood, Viburnum dentatum - Pyrrhalta viburni

VLB early larvae on arrowwood, Viburnum dentatum - Pyrrhalta viburni
Briar Bush Nature Center, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, USA
April 12, 2012
Size: 2 mm
The arrowwood viburnums started leafing in the first week of April. The non-native viburnum leaf beetles (VLB) became apparent on April 11. There are lots of them despite my efforts to remove all egg cases last year. They are attacking tender leaves, not fully developed, making small holes.
I thought that this was the first instar, but I noticed one less that 1 mm long; so this must be the second instar. This is a light colored one, like most of them. There are some darker ones.
There is a tiny something behind it that I didn't notice until much later. I hope that it is a predator.
Eggs, older larva and adult (from last year on the same bushes)
