Coppers - Size Comparison Shot - Lycaena

Coppers - Size Comparison Shot - Lycaena

April 14, 2012
A shot to show a size comparison for various North American coppers. Shown (from top left) are Gorgon, Bronze, American, Blue, Tailed, Edith's, Lustrous, Ruddy, Lilac-bordered, and Bog Coppers. Missing NA species are Gray, Great, Mariposa, Hermes, Dorcas, and Purplish Coppers.

I agree - beautiful !
Except for the Lustrous, these all appear to be males. It would be fun to see the same comparison in females.

And (I'm greedy), the undersides too.

Moved from Coppers.

A beautiful comparison.
Really lovely. Would be so nice matted and framed!!
