A small wasp with many yellow bands. It was crawling around a rose plant. Any help in identifying is appreciated.

Black and Yellow Wasp
I rescued two of these from my pool today. One was trying to swim to safety and the other one (smaller one) looked like it was about to give up on getting out of the water.
I live in w. central Georgia.

A google.com image search of Allantus viennensis yielded this webpage:
http://schmetterling-raupe.de/art/larven.htm

It seems to show a larva very similar to the ones I've been seeing on the roses in my garden.

sawfly
Nice portrait of some kind of sawfly. I will try to get my expert friend to ID it more specifically.
