appears to be Bombus vosnesenskii
This species should not be anywhere near Montana. Species with this color pattern are native to the Pacific Coast and should not be imported to this area where they are not native.

B. vosnesenskii in Montana
I thought it might be B vosnesenskii. This is just a local hardware store that must have imported the plants from the West Coast. Could it have been in the plants? Most of the other Bombus I saw looked like B. huntii. I'll send in a photo.
