Rushville, Rush County, Indiana, USA
June 29, 2010
First specimen collected since the type was found near Starkville, Mississippi, USA, in 1921. During the summers of 2010-11, I found the species in 11 Indiana counties and reared 40 adults from a single female and her offspring. Considering that 1,600 eggs were obtained, I concluded that none of the four species of snails I offered to the larvae were their preferred prey. (Photo enhanced by Karolyn Darrow, USNM)

awesome --thanks!
