Green beetle - Pregnant? - Gastrophysa cyanea - female

Green beetle - Pregnant? - Gastrophysa cyanea - Female
Folsom, Sacramento County, California, USA
April 16, 2012
Found this green iridescent beetle in some tall grass at a local park. It had a very large black shiny circular underbelly that appeared not to 'fit' into its body. Possibly pregnant?
