Caterpillar Invasion in South Texas, about an hour Northwest of Corpus Christi - Halysidota schausi

Caterpillar Invasion in South Texas, about an hour Northwest of Corpus Christi - Halysidota schausi
Lagarto, near Lake Corpus Christi, Live Oak County, Texas, USA
April 16, 2012
Size: 1 inch
We are literally experiencing an invasion. I have seen at least 5 different types. They are usually most active early morning and evening. We watch them crawl all over our house and on one tree I'm particular. I believe it is called a Hackberry tree, they descend in droves, hundreds, possibly thousands, at a time. I will be submitting at least two photos of five different varieties.
