I found this specimen one day and got this photo shortly before sunset but the next day (and ever since) i see an adult (tropical orb weaver?) in the same location. does it molt/mature overnight?

Moved
Moved from Orb Weavers. It could also be a juvenile male hanging out with a female.

moved?
the site note states this record was "moved from orb weavers" - ? is its id still in question?

orb weaver
No, these two images were definitely the same spider. i ended up seeing a male build his web adjacent to hers a few weeks later and he was very small. he was there for maybe 2 days, and shortly thereafter i think i saw her laying eggs. no sign of spiderlings as of yet but since it is that time of year i will look for some. last year she stayed in my yard about 6 weeks.

Great
Thanks for that additional info. These images have been moved to E. ravilla. You can see the ID above the image where it shows the taxonomic level.

orb weaver
Can you add another image to this one with just the spider up close? Also can you take a picture of the spider that is there now? It is certainly possible that it made it's final molt over night and they are the same spider, but I'd need to see it to be certain.

Also a ventral photo helps a lot with these.
