Egg cases perhaps?? - Anthidium manicatum

Egg cases perhaps?? - Anthidium manicatum
Carlisle, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
April 21, 2012
Size: whole string - 3.5 inches
This string of 'things' is on an outside windowsill. Each 'egg' or whatever, that is embedded in the soft white stringy stuff, is about 1cm long and 5mm high. The whole string is about 3.5 inches long. I have checked the Eisman/Charney book but can't find a match. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Wool Carder Bee ???
This is just a wild guess but it might be a wool carder bee. Was the area covered over creating a small cavity?

Good guess
Hi Matt, thanks. That could be a very good guess. I have just posted a pic of the inhabitant of one of the 'eggs' which might help. It is a reasonable match to wool carder pics in the guide. I didn't notice a cavity under the woolly stuff but I collected only half of it. It is on a friend's house. I will check the other half for cavity.
