Very Tiny Beetle - Orthoperus

Very Tiny Beetle - Orthoperus
Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA
April 21, 2012
Size: <1mm
I was reading when a wandering period on the page caught my attention. When I realized it really was wandering, I captured it and attempted to photograph it, but it's so tiny that I had to use the 4x magnification lens, which has a depth of field of about nothing, and the tiny thing wouldn't stop moving, making it near impossible to get anything in focus.

I stuck it in the fridge for a bit, which worked momentarily, at least to make it sit there and clean its antennae. Here are the best shots I could muster of it, showing different details.

impressive job!!
how did the wandering punctuation affect the syntax and meaning?

Moved from Beetles.

it must have made it quite un-ortho-dox

good thing there were not two side by side...
last thing we want is a wandering Colon...

Ha!
You guys are great. Thanks for the morning chuckle. 8)

It certainly performed its duty of putting a stop to the reading!
