the image is from the top view. the underside has 2 yellow spots on the belly. body size of a dime. curles it's legs.
Found on the railing on the deck.

Orb weaver
This is definitely a species of Araneus, maybe A. trifolium, given the distinct banding on the legs. They spin the lovely round "orb" webs you see in your garden. Please consider releasing her if you haven't done so already, and she will kill plenty of pests in your yard.
