Weevil - Allosirocalus disturbatus
Florida Canyon, Pima County, Arizona, USA
April 22, 2012

made my day, guys: 2 new ceus for the Guide
i'm quite mad about them

Moved from Sirocalodes.

Moved tentatively
Moved from Ceutorhynchinae.

cool ceu; has to be 'scoped
Moved from ID Request.

Sirocalodes sp, ?
This might be a species of Sirocalodes.

Allosirocalus disturbatus Dietz ?
After checking the collection this is NOT a Sirocalodes (which has a very distinct bright white post scutellar scale patch). I do think it most likely to be Allosirocalus disturbatus Dietz. We have this in our collection from southern Arizona and the two oblique posthumeral bands as well as the vaguely visible pair of small apical white elytral scale patches make me think its this species.
