Pauropods
Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Oklahoma, USA
April 6, 2012
Size: ~1mm
While camping in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge I finally got to see my first Pauropods. I found four, including these two. I found one crawling under a rock partially buried in the dirt and ash of an old fire-pit, and the others were underneath rocks buried in the soil of an empty (but still moist) creek bed. The largest one I found was still under 1mm long.
