Pygmy Grasshopper - Tetrix subulata - Male
Meadows 1/2 mile north of Westwood - Elevation 5150', Lassen County, California, USA
April 24, 2012
Size: Head to wingtips 12mm
This small grasshopper was one of several seen in a wet mountain meadow. The snow had recently melted and the meadow was beginning to turn green. I suppose these little grasshoppers must have over-wintered as adults.
