Millipede

Millipede
Oakland, Claremont Canyon area, Alameda County, California, USA
April 28, 2012
Size: 5 cm
Dark spot near front legs is not part of the millipede; believe it's millipede excrement on the table. I'm going to keep this critter for another 24 hours. If anyone can tell me what part of the anatomy I should be getting a better picture of - in order to identify - I'll try to get it.

Millipede
Have just posted a closer view of the face. I thought this guy was dying, it was so sluggish. But as soon as I took the cover off it started moving quickly. So getting a picture of the face before it was over the hills and gone was something of a challenge!
