Chironomini
Male Chironomini, I think near Chironomus (e.g. Glyptotendipes). The pictures aren't quite clear enough to see the details that would place it in a genus (details of tail, which holds the male genitalia, and shape of pronotum, which is at the head-thorax joint but partly hidden under the top of the thorax).

Larvae are aquatic.

What is the spacing of the wires?

Thanks for the reply. It's standard window screen. 1/16" I think. Can't find my ruler at the present time.

You should check in Chironomidae. You have a male here! Somebody might take it further.
