Fell out of a piece of lawn grass sod. Daytime high 43 F (6 C)

The sod was removed from around 2, 1 and 0 year old trees from the local garden centre. Five dead tower poplar came out in the fall, replaced with native hazlenut, birch and cherry. Dead cherry came out last fall.
This year, "Insecticidal sprays should be applied around the end of May - i.e. as soon as adults become active."
