I found this fly along the New River in Fayette county, WV. Is it a Salmonfly ? Thanks in advance.

Definitely Perlodidae. Possibly Helop*icus or maybe Mali*rekus, but I'm not familiar enough with the eastern fauna to identify from photos.

Very interesting
Not a salmonfly. Most likely a Perlodidae. There are a couple genera back east with black coloration like this, but I'm not familiar enough to distinguish them from photos. Can you adjust the brightness on the photo?
