Liposcelis deltachi Sommerman - Liposcelis deltachi - female

Liposcelis deltachi Sommerman - Liposcelis deltachi - Female
University of Oklahoma Biological Station, Marshall County, Oklahoma, USA
April 28, 2012
Size: 1.1 mm
Caught beating pine limb with dead needles and other detritus. The color paterns all fit this species. Mockford says: "I think the Liposcelis with the striking pattern is L. deltachi Sommerman, but I don't think I have ever seen one that darkly pigmented. If it is deltachi, it is way north of its usual range".
