near to Pin Oak, Hampshire County, West Virginia, USA
May 1, 2012
I brought two chrysalis from a Spicebush along the Cacapon River in March. I attached them to one of our Spicebush branches. I now see one was a moth cocoon, quite similar to the Promethia I saw last year.

yours is very dark - I just checked on mine and it finally flew away. I hope to see another female again this year. they are such beautiful moths!
