Very similar markings are present in several genera: Syrphus, Eupeodes, Epistrophe, and Didea. But working with both text and pictures in BugGuide, I believe this is Eupeodes. It looks most like Eupeodes and Syrphus, and according to the Eupeodes guide page, Eupeodes has a margined abdomen, while Syrphus does not. Mine is margined in black.
