Black Bee - Apis mellifera

Black Bee - Apis mellifera
Valdosta, GA, USA, Lowndes County, Georgia, USA
May 1, 2012
Size: Same size as honeybees
This guy (or gal) was more hyper than the honeybees that were all over this sweetclover. He was a bit more camera shy, also. By hyper, I mean he moved faster from flower to flower on the same stalk, and from stalk to stalk.

solid black?
Soo... a honeybee can be solid black? I am not arguing, I posted this one because I could not ID it elsewhere - I am not an entomologist...
