From its appearance and the Formica nest habitat, it's probably an actual Medon, but I'm not willing to really put a name on it without seeing the specimen. And maybe not even then :-(

Yes, I think Margaret and I were both hoping it was one of those "myrmecophilous" Medonina genera, but with the wide-spread gular sutures I don't think so. But, there are some Medon species that seem to occur with ants, and if I remember correctly, Casey described some subgenera that he thought might be ant symbionts. Ant mound symbionts appear to readily house "free-living genera" that specialize, so the generic placement shouldn't be discouraging, I think that it may still be a very interesting species!
