Osmia? - Osmia - female

Osmia? - Osmia - Female
Hayward, Alameda County, California, USA
April 30, 2012
Size: 9mm
This may be the first I've seen in my yard. It was visiting lavender. It recovered from chilling pretty quickly and moved around a lot. There appear to be small white eggs? stuck to its ventral side, with a few on its legs.

Thinking same thing
...as megachilids, female Osmia collect pollen using scopa on their abdominal venter:

Considering that, it seems remarkable there isn't more pollen visible on the venter in Debbi's last three photos. But I guess they're pretty good at transferring it off their scopa to provide as much provisioning for their larvae as possible :-)
