Species ID may be problematic though...

 
Tentative questions:
Is the base of pronotum perhaps lobed (not truncated) and are the elytral striae too indstinct to be Apristus? Why not Microlestes? Just wondering. Jeff, this one would challenge me even if scoped.

 
Yes you are right!
Made a blunder here..it is Microlestes..also a very difficult genus..Lindroth mentions possible new/undescribed species in the south and it looks like there hasn't been a recent revision of the group since Lindroth's work in 1968.
