Western fritillaries
This is the most confusing group of butterflies for me. With all the regional differences within the species, it takes an experienced western lepidopterist to tell many of them apart. Thanks for the help!

now I hope I'm correct
I think I am, but don't be surprised if somebody comes along now and says something like - "nope, I think it's S. zerene". They are confusing, frustrating, beautiful, and fascinating.

Looks suspiciously like S. coronis to me.
