Two-banded Petrophila
. At present (2024) we still don't know how to separate Two-banded from Capps' Petrophila in the absence of a good view of the HWs. Both species have been documented as far west in Texas as Val Verde County, but I'm not certain which would range further west into Brewster County. Of the two, Capps' is adapted to the slightly more arid parts of the Texas Hill Country, but Two-banded has demonstrated an ability to colonize rivers and streams with higher turbidity (on average) than Capps'. In the absence of dissection or DNA, this observation is best placed at genus level.

Welcome to Bug Guide, Donald. Thank you for all your excellent photos of Leps. This kind of quality is so welcomed. You obviously seem to know your Leps. Please take a few minutes to add some brief info about yourself & your experience. It really helps us in placing photos.
Which brings me to this specimen. I think your ID is correct, though I can't see the HW. I hope I placed it correctly. If not, someone else will.
