I can definitively say morpho
I can definitively say morphologically this is NOT Acmaeodera neglecta. It Is Acmaeodera neoneglecta.

i'd say, keep it
at some point we might want to make pages to accommodate images that cannot be ID'd to species but can be sorted to informal species groups -- i expect such pages to be useful and educational.
at any rate, we can afford keeping some extra ballast in a genus this huge; after all, we have just over 750 pics per ~85 identified spp. (and ~60 spp. to go!) --nothing exactly extravagant.
[ugh... statements like this one don't make it easier to uphold my frass-happy reputation... losing my grip, i guess]

Good idea..
I agree; it certainly cannot hurt. However, there can be a problem in defining a species group. :-) So, is this in the "
tubulus
group or the
neglecta
group, or are they "congroupic"? Do we need "subgroups"? Come on, Ted...weigh in! :-)

Identification
In my opinion moving it to the genus is about all we can do without seeing the specimen, preferably a series of specimens. From the locality we might deduce this is
A. neoneglecta
; however, this is a difficult taxonomic group at best, and having to ID from images alone puts it into the category of a nightmare!
