Family Tomoceridae, Genus Tomocerus
Hi Stephen and Jim. Indeed Tomoceridae are giants among the Collembola. Body length can be up to 6 mm. The long antennae are characteristic for the members of the family Tomoceridae.

Thank-you
Thank-you Frans, I really value your expertise! It is nice to be able to put a genus name on this one.

Springtail
Put it in the Collembolla section and maybe Frans Janssen of Collembola.org will spot it there and get it to genus for you.

Springtail
Thanks, Jim. I had thought of Elongate Springtails but thought 5.5 mm was beyond their upward limit for size. In fact, add on the antennae and this guy was a giant! Moving to Arthropleona.

It would have been exciting to find it
for me, that is. The springtail, who knows? ;-)
