I'm pretty bad at bugs, but I'm trying to find out more about the fauna on my property. So a little about this guy. I find these flies on the side of my 2 story home this time of year on sunny days, in a swarm, and I do mean swarm (anywhere from 1-2000 flies at a time). I've never once found a maggot or anything resembling one, so no idea where they are springing out of. Anyway, deep red eyes, foil gold trim on bottom of eyes, dark dark blue to black body with yellow/orangish colored feet (they look like yellow paint brushes). I'd be excited to get this to the family level.

Muscidae
This one is probably in family Muscidae, the same family as the House Fly. The large eyes make it a male.

agree!
I was mistaken. Not unusual!

Thanks.

Looks like
Caliphoridae (essentially Blow Flies).

Thanks
May I ask, what anatomical feature gave this away? If it is not a obvious one no worries.
