Generally C. connubialis seems to have that brownish strip in the ST margin; I haven't seen that have that marking in other underwings. However the forewings are so incredibly variable it would help to at least have a description of the color and markings of the hindwing if you saw them.

The only glimpse I got was that little bit that is showing under the torn portion of the right front wing. :>(
