Ixodid tick recovered from burrow of the gopher tortoise, Gopherus polyphemus. It keys to A. tuberculatum in Keiran et Litwak (1989):

-anal groove not extending anteriorly around anus
-palpomere II not extending laterally
-eyes present
-basis capituli rectangular
-palpi longer than b.c.; palpomere II longer than broad
-hypostomal dentition 4/4

I am leaving here until it can be confirmed by another tick specialist.

Good job to BugGuide contributors Kyle Schnepp and Jamie Garrison for collecting them!
