Melissodes? -- bee appeared to be intoxicated by the flower - Diadasia

Melissodes? -- bee appeared to be intoxicated by the flower - Diadasia
Austin, Travis County, Texas, USA
May 9, 2012
Bee was resting in the flower of an Opuntia cacanapa. I don't know if it was sleeping, resting, drunk or what, but it didn't pay any attention to me and remained in the position you see here until I blew into the flower. Then it attempted to fly away but failed. It fell down into the grass and took some time before it was able to fly away after climbing a stem.
