this is Metaphidippus chera. I'm not familiar with the species, but I was perusing the Guide this evening and noted that it is remarkably similar to Pelegrina galathea.

Looks like
one of the Pelegrina species. I'm unfamiliar with California spiders though so you'll have to hope an expert can narrow it further. Neat spider!
