Similar to the Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus) but much smaller, the Three-Tailed Swallowtails here are ovipositing on Red Bay.

Hello, Allen,
would you mind sharing, if you can recall, where this nice photo was taken? I was checking to see what bugguide had for Arizona. Though this species occurs in the extreme SE of Arizona, the photo seems to have been taken farther east. Redbay (
Persea borbonia
)doesn't occur naturally in AZ. Since this butterfly seems to appear in the U.S. only as a rare stray, it would be of interest to know where, and when sighted.
