Observed in what was presumably courting behaviour with a much heavier bodied specimen. Encountered at least two dozen of the species in a mile and a half.

Wouldn't like to say from this image.
Though I don't think you get oleracea in Washington.

Pieris in Washington (Lewis County)
No, the only other Pieris which appears in my area is P. rapae which it obviously isn't. There were dozens of them, too.
