Carabid - Selenophorus granarius
Shirley, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA
May 13, 2012
Size: 5.5mm

Selenophorus granarius
Moved to Selenophorus granarius from prior "S. ellipticus" upon my re-examining this specimen.

PWM note. Externally, S. granarius vs S.ellipticus are most reliably separated by ABL ≤ 6 mm vs > 6 mm; scutellar striae short, interrupted, or absent vs prolonged and well impressed.

Moved
Moved from Ground Beetles.
Thanks Peter.

Selenophorus ellipticus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. Thanks Tom.

UPDATED to a sister species noted above.
