histerid 5

histerid 5
Tippecanoe County, Indiana, USA
May 6, 2007
Size: 3.5 mm
Seems to be near Hister servus.

-4 entire discal striae
-subhumeral striae absent
-2 pronotal striae, outer one almost entire
-Pygidium/propygidium punctate, latter more coarsely
-Lateral stria of metasternum not curved back toward metepisternal suture

This last character is different than Jeff's posted image of H. servus, which gives me pause in calling this one H. servus.
