Eyed Click Beetle - Alaus oculatus

Eyed Click Beetle - Alaus oculatus
Newport News, Virginia, USA
May 14, 2012
Pretty sure this is an eyed click beetle. The eye spots are larger than those of Alaus species, and there are white spots on the elytra. If I incorrectly identified it, please move it to the correct species. I DO know that it's in the correct genus.

Found one on our back porch tonight. Never saw one before and was struck by the false eyes printed on top of head-similar to how some carribean fish have to fool predators.
